Family Services Australia offers family support services to meet a variety of needs.

The Child Youth and Family Support program provides early support, and accepts referrals from the local government areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven. Families with children 0-17 years of age are able to refer themselves to this program.

Family Services Australia have Family Support Workers who can visit you in your home and give advice on and practical support with:

Advice and Support.

Family Services Australia understand that raising a family isn’t easy, and sometimes you need help when things aren’t going well. The Family Support Workers can visit you in your home and give advice on and practical support with:

  • Access to childcare
  • Assessment and case planning
  • Basic counselling
  • Building stronger parenting skills
  • Co-ordination of specialist assessments and referrals
  • Learning how to access specialised help, such as health, education, financial, legal, parenting and family planning services
  • The day-to-day running of your home and the establishment of routines

Park and Play. 

Play is fun for children, and it’s a great way for youngsters to learn about the world and each other. Park and Play is an activity of the Communities for Children Shellharbour initiative funded by the Australian Government. Park and Play brings children and their carers together in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Disability Employment Services. 

Family Services Australia aim to achieve sustainable outcomes for all clients through an Integrated Employment Service model that is individualized and client centred, led by a team of highly specialized Community Support Consultants.
