The physical benefits of Equine and Animal Therapy is based on action and movement, stimulating the tactile sense of touch. Repetitive motion helps improve balance, coordination, strength, and muscle tone. Cognitive impairments are addressed through instruction in safe horsemanship skills and activities. Participants have a chance to socialise more easily with others and experience human to animal bonding, which leads to improving self-esteem, motivation and a greater sense of independence. Each individual will have a contextualized plan that suits their strength based plan. Classes are taught by a certified instructor.
