Who will my NDIS Plan meeting be with?
Plan meetings can either be conducted by a NDIS Planner or through a Local Area Coordinator (LAC). A LAC can be a NDIS staff member or they can be a partner of a not-for-profit organisation who is acting on behalf of the NDIS.
What will my meeting be like?
You can request a face-to-face or phone Plan meeting. You can also ask to have the meeting in the place that suits you such as your home, the NDIS office or in your LAC’s office.
Can I ask someone to attend the NDIS Plan meeting with me?
Yes. You can ask a family member, close friend, your partner or a person who supports you (someone you know and can trust) to join you.

When you are called by someone from NDIS, it’s always good to ask them the purpose of the phone call. It could be to check your eligibility for the NDIS or to schedule a NDIS Plan meeting.
If you’re called for your actual NDIS Plan meeting, it’s important to have decided how you want to manage your Plan. In doing so, consider:
- If you will be managed by the agency (NDIA managed),
- If you would like to manage your budgets, invoice payments, paperwork yourself (self-managed) or,
- Whether you’d like to choose someone to provide you with accounting and book-keeping support (plan management).
