How Leap in! began.
Leap in! was founded in Brisbane in 2017 by Andrew Kiel and Robyn Batten, with the backing of UnitingCare Queensland and Uniting NSW.ACT.
At the time, the NDIS was new and people with disability and their families were adjusting to a very different way of accessing and managing supports. Greater choice and control also came with new information, processes and responsibilities to understand.
Andrew and Robyn could see that receiving an NDIS Plan was only the beginning. People needed useful information, support and better tools to understand their funding and put their plan into action.
Together with people with disability and their families, they created Leap in! to bring NDIS knowledge, budget visibility and plan management support together.
Since then, Leap in! has grown from supporting a small group of Queenslanders to helping thousands of Members across Australia.
The NDIS has changed significantly during that time and so have we. Our people, services and technology continue to evolve, while our focus remains on making the Scheme easier to understand and helping Members get the most from their plan.

Lived experience is an important part of that. 67% of our team has lived experience of disability, either personally or as a parent or carer. This experience informs everything from the way we communicate and explain NDIS information to the services and technology we create.

Today, our people, systems and purpose-built technology support thousands of Members and providers across Australia.
Our Leap in! app gives Members greater visibility of their NDIS budgets, invoices and plan information, while Saltu helps providers manage and submit invoices.
Behind these tools is the operational capability required to support a national plan management service, including experienced teams, governance, information security and processes designed around the requirements of the NDIS.
