Leap in! listed as one of AFR’s most innovative companies.

Leap in! – Australia’s leading NDIS plan manager – has been named as one of Australia and New Zealand’s top 100 Most Innovative Companies by the Australian Financial Review.

The non-profit financial intermediary was recognised in a virtual ceremony yesterday (14 October 2021) for its innovative approach to supporting thousands of Australians with a disability, being named on the prestigious 2021 AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies list.

Leap in! ranked #2 in the government, education and not-for-profit category, a significant achievement for the organisation which was founded in Brisbane, Queensland and delivers NDIS plan management services to over 7,500 Members nationally.

The esteemed annual list, published by the Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazines, is the most comprehensive annual ranking of innovative companies across Australasia.

Leap in! CEO Andrew Kiel said that the entire Leap in! team was proud of the honour.

“Innovation is in our DNA and at the core of everything we do to enable people with different abilities to make the most of the NDIS and to live their best life,” Mr Kiel said.

“To be recognised at this level among other leading national innovators reflects our determination to transform the sector and deliver mainstream-like services to people with  disability.”

More than 700 organisations were nominated this year including ASX500 and mid-tier companies.

The awards are based on a rigorous assessment process to measure a top innovation implemented in the past two years. Specifically, the judges explore the value, quality and uniqueness of the solution, and the impact generated by the innovation.

Innovative service models in disability.

Backed by UnitingCare Queensland and Uniting NSW.ACT, Leap in! was established to explore new and innovative service models in disability.

Developed in consultation with people with disabilities, the Leap in! end-to-end digital platform supports Members to manage their entire NDIS journey in one place via a custom app and bespoke virtual claims and payment wallet platform.

Mr Kiel said that the organisation was founded on a philosophy of putting people first, empowering them and giving them the confidence to navigate the complexities of the NDIS, and supporting them to find mainstream businesses and specialist disability providers who can help them implement their NDIS plan.

“Here at Leap in! we put people first. We’re a not-for-profit in a segment of the NDIS that has been dominated by ‘for profits’. Our success is defined in the achievement of positive connections and outcomes for people with disabilities, the businesses and people that support them and the wider community,” Mr Kiel said.

“Leap in! is technology-led with a unique market-leading customer experience platform and operational scalability. Our custom app and bespoke virtual wallet allow us to provide advanced digital services to NDIS participants complemented by a quality, high engagement service model that sets the benchmark for the sector.”

The organisation has already been nationally recognised for its work, being awarded for Outstanding Achievement in the Australian Charity Awards, and for its contribution to Australia’s ICT sector as finalist in two categories of the Australian Digital Disruptors Awards.

The top 100 Most Innovative Companies were officially named in yesterday’s online ceremony, and published in a special report in today’s issue of the Australian Financial Review both in print and online.
